The third round of the men's game took off with the regulars as there have barely been any surprising shocker in the exit of the top seeds. David Ferrer defeated Andreas Seppi 6-2 6(2)-7 3-6, South Africa's Kevin Anderson beat Ivo Karlovic of Croatia 6-3, the Croat retired retired in the early hour of the game, Marcel Granollers beat Martin Kilzan 6(5)-7(7) 6-2 7(7)-6(4) 7-5 just as Dusan Lajovic beat Jack Sock 4-6 5-7 3-6.
Richard Gasquet lost to Fernando Verdasco 3-6 2-6 3-6 while Andy Murray beat Phillip kohlschreiber 3-6 6-3 6-3 4-6 12-10 .
Winners of the round 3 games qualify to play in the round 4 games which advances them into the quarter final for the winners in that particular round.
