Melbourne Storm's Cameron Smith will again lead the side.

Sheens has been forced to blood a host of new faces due to the large contingent of players unavailable through either injury or suspension.

"There are all talented kids. They are not going to be put off by playing for Australia," Sheens said.

"I'm not nervous. I'm excited about it.

"It's a really good blend of experience and youth. The positive for me is the experience that even the debutants have. We have a high proportion of State of Origin representatives and premiership winners and they all deserve to wear the jumper.

Australia are the defending Four Nations champions, having won the tournament in 2011.

The Kangaroos begin their title defence against New Zealand in Brisbane on October 25.

They then face England in Melbourne on November 2 before finishing with Samoa in Wollongong on November 9.

The final will be held in Wellington on November 15.
