Rishi Dhawan has replaced Bhuvneshwar Kumar in India's Twenty20 squad to face Australia, while Gurkeerat Singh also comes in.

All-rounder Rishi Dhawan has been called up to the India squad for the Twenty20 series against Australia after Bhuvneshwar Kumar was ruled out due to a fractured thumb.

Bhuvneshwar was drafted into the squad for the one-day international series in Australia after Mohammed Shami suffered a hamstring problem, but his tour has also been cut short.

The seamer suffered the injury attempting to stop a drive from David Warner during the fourth ODI in Canberra and was ruled out of the final game of the series at the SCG on Saturday.

Ajinkya Rahane split his webbing on his right hand in the field in Canberra, so Gurkeerat Singh has added to the T20 squad as cover for the batsman.

The three-match T20 series gets underway in Adelaide on Tuesday.
