The 25-year-old was cited by an independent citing commissioner following an incident during Leinster's 24-11 win at the RDS Arena.

An independent disciplinary committee met on Wednesday and opted to suspend McGrath until January 25 for a deliberate stamp on his Ireland team-mate.

The loosehead is set to miss his side's final two European Rugby Challenge Cup Pool 2 matches against Castres Olympique and Wasps, but will be available for the Six Nations opener against Italy in Rome on February 7.

The absence of McGrath, who has the right to appeal against the decision, is a blow to Leinster as they are already without influential prop Cian Healy.

Leinster are level on 13 points with Wasps at the top of Pool 2
