The 11pm (Nigerian time) kick-off at the Stade Municipal de Berkane saw the home side trying to overcome a first-leg 2-1 defeat from the Port Said Stadium in Egypt a week ago.

RS Berkane knew they needed to score to have a chance of progressing to the semifinals and they were aided by Al-Masry's Yaser Hamed when the centre-back handled the ball in the area.

Youssef Alfahli converted the penalty in the 7th minute and that proved to be the winning goal despite a total of 33 shots fired off by both teams cumulatively.

RS Berkane will slug it out with TP Mazembe in the semifinal of the 2021/22 CAF Confederations Cup with the first leg scheduled for Sunday, May 8 in Tanzania.

The return leg will be hosted by RS Berkane at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, Morocco on Sunday, May 15.
