The 22-year-old has made 16 NRL appearances since debuting in 2015, with 11 of those games coming last year.

"The boys here at the Sharks are going really well, it's exciting times and I can't wait to be a part of it," Cherrington said.

Of linking up with Gerard Beale - his international team-mate in the Kiwis' Four Nations squad last year - Cherrington added: "I spoke to him and he is really excited for me and I'm looking forward to getting started in November."

The Sharks are flying high in 2016, only a point adrift of ladder-leading Melbourne Storm.
