e-Commerce platform launches KongaPay

According to reports, Konga has launched its own proprietary payment gateway app called KongaPay.

Sources say KongaPay was developed in partnership with some Nigerian banks and allows users who have a valid bank account and registered mobile phone number to perform one-click payments on the Konga marketplace.

According to emerging reports, KongaPay is relatively simple to use, and eliminates the need to type your card details over and over again on each transaction as is the current practice, replacing that with a one-time PIN which you use for every purchase.

According to information gathered, Konga says all the payments made with KongaPay are fully protected and are held in escrow until the transaction is satisfactorily completed. The payment system will also allow users perform one-click refunds for cancelled orders.

To set the service up, while checking out:

Select KongaPay

Select your bank

Enter your name, account number and date of birth

Enter the code sent from your bank to your phone or email.

The next time you come to make a purchase on Konga, all you’ll have to do is enter the code sent to you by your bank

The service which was launched with a small event during the week, will be available for customers starting in July.
