You can now mute individual tabs

After Google introduced a small icon for its Chrome browser to let users know which tab was playing audio last year, the search giant then started testing a feature which let select users to mute individual tabs in the web browser last month but it is yet to roll out the feature globally.

Users will now be able to right click on a tab showing the small ‘audio icon’, and click on the mute option.

The feature is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms. Until now, users had to download extensions to mute individual tabs.

According to Gadgets 360, the mute tab feature is present the Chrome 46 version of Google’s web browser that was launched last week.
