3 months after his pro-Obi prophecy, Bishop lands in Kirikiri over r*pe allegation
Barely three months after prophesying that Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, would win the keenly-contested 2023 presidential election, Bishop Oluwafeyi Daniels of the iReign Christian Family has landed in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
In a viral video on social media, Daniels had, before the February 25 election, also prophesied that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would be arrested.
However, on Monday, April 17, 2023, the cleric, who was arraigned before Justice Ramon Oshodi of an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, for raping two of his church pastors, was remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending when he perfects his bail conditions.
Daniels was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on rape and was said to have committed the offence sometime in June 2020, at Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki area of Lagos.
The prosecution argued that the offence contravened Sections 260 (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
According to Justice Oshodi, who granted the defendant ₦20 million bail with two sureties in like sum, one of them must be the owner of a property in Lagos State and the property must be enough to cover the bail sum.
“The original document of the landed property must be submitted to the chief registrar of Lagos State.
“The sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must show evidence of three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government,” the judge stated.
The judge also ordered the defendant to deposit his passport with the chief registrar of the court and ordered an accelerated hearing of the case.
