As every self-respecting lady knows, the eyebrows can go a long way in lending character to the face and defining a person...if you doubt this just ask Lagos socialite Nkiru Anumudu and Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi whose eyebrows are possibly more famous than Angelica at the height of her career. Having established just how important well-groomed eyebrows are, it goes without saying that bushy eyebrows are a fashion faux-pas punishable by...threading!
Threading is a method of hair removal which involves using a string of cotton to remove hair from the root. Although it originated in the Eastern world and Arabia, its quickly gained popularity in the West and lately, more and more ladies in Lagos are swearing by it.
So how does it work? A layer of cotton thread is doubled, twisted and rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Sounds painful? Not if you get it right.
Threading has been hailed over other methods of eyebrow shaping like tweezing and good ol' razor blade shaping because it provides more precise control in shaping the eyebrows and its more gentle on the skin, plus threading removes more hair at once than if you wanted to tweeze your eyebrows one painful strand after the other.
Now you know, you have no excuse to roam the streets with shaggy eyebrows. For tips and help on threading, check out the videos below.
Thread carefully!
