Police dog goes viral after he was shot three times in the line of duty

Jethro, a K9, was responding to a burglary call in Canton, Ohio, yesterday morning when he was injured.

A suspect fired his weapon after he was confronted by the dog, according to wkyc.com.

The alleged shooter was eventually caught after he fled and tried to hide nearby.

But Jethro, the Dog injuries could make him face a far bleaker future.

He is not expected to die but vets are worried he could have suffered severe brain damage as a result of brain swelling following surgery.

His story has touched many online and a GoFundMe page has been set up for him to help with medical costs and provide new bullet proof vests.
