18-year-old girl discovers dead bodies of her mum, step-dad and her two half-brothers at home

The 18 year old girl who was not named discovered the dead body of her mum Kelli Mata, 40, and her husband David, in the living room of their Louisiana home.

She later found the bodies of her half-brothers four-year-old Caden and Liam, two in their bedrooms.

Police say Kelli and her two sons died of stab wounds.

Officials claims it is unclear how David died, although a straight-blade knife was found under his body, which also had stab wounds. Metro UK reported.

Kelli’s daughter fled the house and called emergency services.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said David Mata fatally stabbed his wife and their sons sometime before 11am, according to the Times-Picayune.

Speaking of David, a friend of Kelli’s daughter said: ‘I didn’t think he would do something like that. He was such a good person. He was happy with her.’

David, originally from Spain, previously pleaded guilty to assaulting Kelli in 2010, before they married in 2012.
