After considerable success in the US, UK, and other parts of the globe, creators of the hit show, in a financial partnership with telecommunication giants GLO have begun moves to actualize the Nigerian version of the franchise which will be aired soon.
Rigorous investigations have revealed that the brain behind the project is Rotimi Pedro, CEO Optima Media Group (OMG). OMG have been active pacesetters in Nigeria. In 2011, the company brought in the Nigerian Idol, with Nigeria’s Got Talent following up a year later. All attempts to pry credible information from Lisa Ughieghele a senior executive at OMG, met with polite resistance as she is not privileged to disclose any information.
Although, sources say the startup deal be between OMG and Glo has been signed, stamped and delivered to the pipeline. The new contract will be made public via announcements on Wednesday March 27, 2013 at the weekly industry networking gig, Industry Nite. The event is set to have a posse of stars which include Burna Boy, Niyola, Seyi Shay, Phyno, Pucado and UK-based Nigerian singer, L Marshal on the bill.
