1. The African passport aka the 'Red passport' was launched on July 17, 2016 during the 27th African Union Summit in Kigali, Rwanda.

2. In layman's language, it means you can enter any African country without Visa except Morocco who pulled out of the union in 1984.

3. The first persons who received the passport were Idriss Deby, Chairperson of the African union and President of Chad and also Paul Kagame, the President of Rwanda.

4. The passport would be available to the citizens of the 54 member countries in 2018.

5. This new E-passport would hopefully increase mobility for Africans and also boost economic growth and trade between African countries.

6. The passport would be available in 5 languages including French, Arabic, Portuguese, English and Swahili.

7. Away from all these details, Morrocco is now looking to the rejoin the African Union.
