The video of lightning striking around a rainbow goes viral

The beautiful footage was able to be caught on camera as the rainbow had formed just towards the end of the storm which can be seen in the background.

The person that filmed the lightning wrote online: "Because the storm was still visible and there was a lot of lightning on the back of the storm I was able to catch lightning strikes and crawlers in the centre of the rainbow."

Thunderstorms are common in areas of high humidity at this time of year in Missouri.
