According to the Nigerian Football Federation the Falconets, coaching crew and officials will depart for France the venue of the tournament on Thursday, August 2.
Falconets group opponents
The 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will take place from Friday, August 5 till Sunday, August 25.
The Falconets are in group D alongside heavyweights Germany, Haiti and China.
Falconets fixtures
The Falconets will play three group games against Germany, Haiti, and China with the aim to progress to the quarterfinals of the competition.
On Monday, August 6 Nigeria will play their opener against Germany at the Stade Marville, Saint-Malo.
On Thursday, August, 9 the Falconets will play their second group game against Haiti at the Stade Marville, Saint-Malo.
On Monday, August 13 the Falconets will play their last group game against China PR at the Stade du Clos Gastel, Dinan-Léhon.
Falconets record at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup
The Falconets have participated at every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The Falconets advanced to the final of the competition in 2010 and also in 2014 when Asisat Oshaola inspired the team only to lose to Germany on two occasions.
They advanced to the Quarter-finals in 2004, 2006, and 2008, they placed fourth in 2012 and failed to progress beyond the group stages in 2002 and 2016.
