Abosede and Joseph Aloba, the parents of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, aka Mohbad, were invited over for the ongoing coroner's inquest into his death.

According to Punch, the singer's mother noted that he was constantly full of fear when it came to matters involving Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry. She stressed that he intentionally kept information from her in a bid to protect her from them.

"Whenever Mohbad was with me, he was always full of fear. He always mentioned Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, and he was always shaking. I begged him several times to allow me to speak with them, but he refused, saying he didn't want them to kill me."

She further noted that Mohbad confided in her and told her Marley attacked him at a show that he was forced to attend.

"My son told us there was a show Naira Marley forced him to attend which he declined because it was Sammy Larry that was the organiser of that show. The last time he travelled for a show, after he came back, he mentioned to me that Naira Marley came to attack him. He reported the case to the police but I don’t know if the police invited Naira Marley," the mother said.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at age 27, and the mysterious circumstances behind his sudden death sparked a global outrage and call for investigations.

The Lagos State Police Command launched an investigation shortly after and exhumed his body from the grave he was buried in for an autopsy. Marley and Sammy returned to Nigeria for interrogation, after which they were remanded to police custody for 21 days. Evidence was also found linking them to assaulting and cyberstalking Mohbad.

It was later discovered that the singer reacted to the injections administered to him by a quack nurse. Said injections, consisting of Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and an antibiotic known as Cetrazone, administered intravenously to Mohbad triggered an immediate reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps and convulsions and eventual death.
