Daniel Oluwagbemileke Popoola (Ph.D.) is a young Nigerian who dreamt of being one of the youngest, if not the youngest, Nigerians with Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience.

He set this goal after the loss of his father to cancer in 2007 during his first year of study in the University of Ibadan's School of Medicine in Nigeria.

This past Friday, the 19th of May 2017, his family from Nigeria and across the globe gathered together in the United States at the State University of New York, Binghamton, to witness and celebrate his convocation as he was hooded by the University President Harvey Stinger, the Dean Susan Strehle, and Professor Nicole Cameron as a doctor (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience at the age of 27 years.

It was truly a celebration of Nigeria, our beautiful culture and tradition, and the intelligence that we exemplify across the globe. He is a true example of young Nigerians and Africans pursuing greatness and making our nation and continent proud across the globe.
