The all-rounder suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury last month, but was on Sunday named in Australia's 15-man squad for the showpiece on home soil and in New Zealand.

Marsh, who averages 36 with the bat in one-day internationals, is expected to be back in contention for the latter stages of the upcoming Tri-Series with England and India.

And the 23-year-old has played down concerns over his fitness ahead of the World Cup - which starts on February 14.

He is quoted as saying on Cricket Australia's official website: "There's no mental demons for me,

"Over the last 12 months I've got my body to a point where I've gained a lot of confidence in it.

"And I've just gone hell for leather playing and training, and that's been great for me.

"This is a really minor injury. It's probably only a 10-day injury, but my hamstrings turn that into a three or four-week injury."
