On his most recently released song, ‘High notes’, Banky W threw in an artistic twist, he didn’t just sing, but also rapped on the track. This stimulating decision of Mr W has had many debating on social media whether it’s time he drops a mixtape.

It all started in 2011 when he premiered ‘Low key’ from the #R&BW album. On the Sarz produced beat, Banky decided to share his hidden talent with the world.
January, 2013
Mr W jumped on the remix of L.O.S's ‘Bad guy p’ which featured rap heavy weight Sarkordie. Banky had the opening verse on this song.
“I’m not even a rapper though ...
Baddest boss on a bad guy p,
I’m the bomb, yup, that kind thing,
Yeah, that why these little lames wanna back bite me,
Cause they wishing they will be seeing all the cash I see,

Banky W tweets about getting comfortable with his rap voice and the possibility of him dropping a mixtape titled "I'm Not Even A Rapper Though".
It's 2015 and the project is yet to happen.
August, 2014
The EME general went hard on DJ Jimmy Jatt’s hip-hop track titled ‘E toh beh’ which also featured Phyno. His confidence and delivery was commendable. He opened up the song and handed over his lines like a pro.
October, 2014
Mr Capable featured on Tiwa Savage’s ‘Shout out’ remix. Two great singers on a track, there was an automatic assumption this was going to be a duet, but the surprise was quite real when he said: “Let me use my rap voice now” on the song.
He was even quite cocky about it, “Just started rapping and I’m already better than you”, he rapped.

The R&B rapper freestyled on MTV Base’s Official Naija Top 10.
June was sure an interesting month in his rap career, The king of the Lagos party went in on Tim Westwood’s Crib Session freestyle.
August 2015
This month saw him spit some lines 'High notes'. This song is the first single off his forthcoming fifth studio album.
So far, it seems as though Banky W’s fondness for rap seems to have rubbed off positively on his fans.
