The Victoria outfit had lost each of their last two encounters, but bounced back in fine style to end that run.

Perth failed to ever really get a grip on the contest despite a strong effort off the bench from DeAndre Daniels.

Daniels recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, but his performance was in vain thanks to a strong team performance from Melbourne.

Jordan McRae top scored with 27 points, while Daniel Kickert (15 points), Stephen Dennis (14 points) and Mark Worthington (14 points) also contributed heavily to a relatively comfortable win.

The Wildcats remain third in the standings with five rounds of the regular season remaining.
