Couple Climb 2,300ft For Their Mountain-Top Wedding

Not every couple is down for the usual traditional formal wedding. These two opted for an adrenalin pumping ceremony on a mountain.

For one couple, their walk down the aisle was actually a 2,300-foot climb to the top of a granite dome.

Jamie Alperin, 29, and David Lamb, 33, of Colorado were inspired by videos of adventure-style weddings and with the help of some rock-climbing enthusiast friends, settled on B.C.'s Stawamus Chief Mountain, with its stunning views of Howe Sound.

It was a powerful experience for the couple, who had a videographer and a photographer with them to capture the unique wedding.

"You can overcome anything. Together you're unified with one rope, do it together and trust and communicate with each other the whole way up. It was incredible," Lamb told ABC 13.

The vows were officiated by professional skier, Pep Fujas.

For Alperin, it was a relief to skip the whole bridezilla thing. "I have never wanted a wedding – even as a young girl, it just sounded expensive and more of a pain than anything else," the bride told The Daily Mail.
