Government officials break laws with immunity!

In Abuja, a lot of government officials are violating traffic regulations because they know they can get away with it.

Traffic Violations

A lot of things go into keeping traffic under control like having traffic lights at strategic junctions, traffic officials doing their jobs, and so on.

Unfortunately, all of these become redundant when people violate traffic regulations.

According to the Daily Times, government officials are violating traffic laws in Abuja, unfortunately, their bad actions led to accidents.

Also, the Nigerian Police Force is reportedly aiding these lawless officials as they violate traffic laws while harassing, sometimes going as far as to brutalise, innocent motorists in the process.

Mr. Joseph Okoro, a motorist and a victim of the violation of traffic regulations by government officials, shares his experience:

“I was going to town on that faithful day from Karu and when I got to power house in Asokoro, the traffic light stopped us. While we were waiting for the traffic light to pass us, a convoy of one of the state governor approached from behind and before I know what was happening his security details came down and forced me and other drivers in front of their convoy to create a passage for them to pass not minding the traffic light.”

In order to stop traffic jams and accidents, we all need to stop violating traffic regulations.
