Nigeria to face Poland in March 2018 in World Cup warm-up

With the Super Eagles drawn in Group D of the World Cup along with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have started drawing up specific friendly targets to prepare the team for its group opponents.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr believes Poland are similar to Croatia who they play first at the 2018 World Cup at the Kaliningrad Stadium on June 16.

The NFF and their Polish counterparts have also met concerning a friendly game which the central European country will use to prepare for their own Group H opponents Senegal.

Poland open their Russia 2018 campaign against the Lions of Teranga in Moscow on June 19.

PZPN Confirm

The Media Officer of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) Jakub Kwiatkowski on Monday, December 11 confirmed that the friendly game will hold on Friday, March 23.

The venue for the friendly game has not been confirmed although it is reported that PZPN want the game in Poland.

“We can confirm that we will play Nigeria on March 23. Decisions on the location of the match have not been made yet,” Kwiatkowski wrote on his Twitter handle on Monday.
