Rohr pleased with Ezenwa's display at CHAN

Rohr who is at the tournament to keep an eye on the Home-based Eagles in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, was full of praise for Ezewa's performance against Angola in the quarterfinal fixture.

The gaffer said he was happy to have him in the Super Eagles A team, "His reflexes are very good and he showed it today. He made three or four crucial saves. A team needs a good goalkeeper and I’m happy to have him." the German said

The 29-year-old shot stopper made several saves to keep his team in the game, as Nigeria pushed for an equaliser.

However, Rohr described Ezenwa's brilliant performance not new to him, He said “It’s not new to me because I know Ezenwa very well,”

He then went on to state that his confidence in Ezenwa's ability is why he picked him for the World Cup qualifying games “That’s why I picked him for the games against Cameroon and Algeria because he is a good goalkeeper in a one versus one situation and one of the best". Rohr stated

Ezenwa's performance in the quarterfinal match against Angola earned him the Man of match award.
