Internet giant is testing a service which lets you listen separately to different layers of music

Users with this technology will get the opportunity to take the song apart and hear each individual piece of a song.

The tech giants partner with Song exploder, a podcast where artists take apart their songs

The Web Virtual Reality (Web VR) experiment features musicians who narrate how their song was made, as the users also get the opportunity to take the song apart and hear each individual piece of the song.

The website which currently has six songs from artists Phoenix, Perfume Genius, Natalia Lafourcade, Ibeyi, Alarm Will Sound and Clipping.

The service was created with WebVR, and can be explored on a laptop, phone or a VR headset. It uses a technique called spatial audio to hear layers of music start playing around you.

It works on the website, so no need to install anything. Just log on to the site and select a song, then break down each component in layers of  drums, synth, vocals, etc turning them on and off as you wish.

Musicians can get a code on github to listen for themselves various components of their music.
