iPhone season is here! Here is what to expect from tech giant's event today

Apart from iPhone news, Apple is also expected to announce updates to its other lineups.

iPhone 6s Plus

We are in the month of September and traditionally, that is when Apple likes to release its new flagship phones. For this year, the newest addition to the iPhone lineup is expected to be launched at Apple's event which is happening later today.

Apart from iPhone news, Apple is also expected to announce updates to its other lineups. Also, Apple has reported two straight quarters of year-on-year revenue declines sparking speculation of the company's growth prospects especially as demand for the iPhone is Apple's main source of profit.

Basically, this means that today's event, and the reception of the new iPhone (if one is indeed announced today because you never know with Apple), is very important to Apple's short term future.

That being said, here is a rundown of what you can expect from Apple's event today:

  • The headphone jack on the new iPhones is expected to be removed in favor of an additional speaker grille or microphone.
  • The new 4.7-inch model is expected to have an improved single-lens camera system.
  • The new 5.5-inch model is expected to have a new dual-lens camera system which will allow for deeper zooming with less reduction in clarity and better low-light photography.
  • A new processor, a successor to the A9 chip in the iPhone 6s, is also expected to be unveiled.

New Watch
