Peace Hyde's charity partners with Barclays to launch "Ignite Series"

The Aim Higher Africa Ignite series will feature some of Africa's leading entrepreneurs from across the continent.

Peace Hyde, founder of Aim Higher Africa

Forbes Africa's British-Ghanaian TV personality, Peace Hyde, through her non-profit organisation, Aim Higher Africa, has partnered with Barclays to help build entrepreneurial spirit in youths and curb unemployment.

The platform will be called the Aim Higher Africa Ignite Edutainment Series.

Hyde started her charity organisation when she relocated back to Africa after a 6-year career in education that spanned subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Chemistry and senior management capacity.

“The critical ingredient is getting up and doing something, no matter what, it’s as simple as that. A lot of young people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today," says Hyde.

"The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer and that is what all these amazing entrepreneurs featured in The Ignite Series have proven. At such a challenging time where youth unemployment is at an all-time high, we need to show our bright young minds that they have the power to do more.”

The Aim Higher Africa Ignite Series will feature some of Africa's leading entrepreneurs from across the continent and different industries. The featured entrepreneurs will share key moments on their entrepreneurial path that led to them achieving success.

Since its inception, Peace Hyde's charity has created over 300 small businesses in West Africa and it will look to continue that trajectory with the new partnership with financial giant Barclays.

Pulse Ghana spoke to Peace Hyde and she shared the vision behind the Ignite Series and why she believes entrepreneurship is key to unlocking Africa's human capital resources.
