According to a recent report by Punch Newspaper, the President had written to the Senate, asking the lawmakers to confirm Magu as the anti-graft chairman.

Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was rejected by the Senate over an alleged report by DSS.

The Senate had claimed a damning security report by the Department of State Services was the reason for the rejection of Magu's nomination.
