Speaking at a one-day training organised by Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) at Ogombo, Lekki, Mr Imohimi rolled out some security tips which he advised the participants to adhere to.
He encouraged members of the public to know their neighbours and be familiar with the policemen in their community to enable them to quickly contact them when in distress.
He said the people should be inquisitive and be wary of some unsuspecting domestic workers who could be criminally minded.
“You should anticipate trouble and make sure that you put in place measures that will guarantee their safety and that of your family members,” the commissioner said.
He warned Lagos residents against leaving behind tools that could assist criminals in attacking them.
“Do not leave items or tools like ladders, machets and other deadly weapons around your fence or home and ensure that you have a door with iron rails or bullet proof doors.
“Install alarm system or a surveillance camera so that you can be ahead of any unsuspecting attempt by criminals to waylay you,” he said
The police boss also advised the residents to always be careful about gorgeous dressing, demonstration of wealth in public and to desist from taking pictures with unknown persons particularly around their homes.
