According to a report by Premium Times, the meeting was scheduled to start at 11:30am on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the Presidential Villa.

The meeting is undoubtedly a result of a leaked letter sent by Kachikwu to President Buhari, who is also the Minister of Petroleum, where he accused Baru of insubordination and illegal conducts.

The minister said he considered it important to call the attention of the president to his concerns about Baru because they're capable of hindering progress in the petroleum sector.

In the letter dated August 30, 2017, Kachikwu had also complained about how attempts to book an appointment with the president had failed.
