State government to build 2000 affordable houses, mall

Kaduna state is in a partnership with UPDC Plc concerning an affordable housing scheme.

2000 affordable houses, and a mall are about to be built in Kaduna state.

This is due to a collaboration with the state government and a property management company called UPDC Plc.

The houses will be located at the Millennium City, while mall is called the Galaxy Mall.

Other states with affordable houses include Kano and Abuja, where Lafarge Africa Plc intends to build 300,000 low cost housing units by 2020.

“In Abuja, we are working on a development of 500 houses in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. In Kano, we are currently working on the development of 504 units sponsored by the Emir of Kano and using a prefabricated solution enabling a record fast execution. The solutions enable up to 30 percent savings on construction costs.”
