At first, his wife, Esther, told him not to worry, promising that she would stand by him no matter what but after two years with no cure, the worst he had feared has happened.

"My name is Aaron, a 40-year-old businessman living with my family in Lagos. I have been married for eight years now with two children but the past two years have been one of pains and heartache for me.

I am even ashamed to say this but I have no option but to come out and see how other readers can help me out of this disgraceful predicament.

I began noticing my declining sexual libido shortly after my 38th birthday and initially, my wife, Esther, was not perturbed as she often joked that my manhood may have grown tired of our regular sex and wants to cool off.

But after the issue persisted for more than a month, I became worried and went to see my doctor who assured me there was nothing to worry about as I was just experiencing a normal phase in the life of every man.

He told me that whenever I wanted to have sex with my wife, we should just be relaxed and engage in prolonged foreplay, that everything will be okay with time.

But try as we did, things did not improve as it went from bad to worse in that at the beginning, I used to have an erection that did not last longer than five minutes but with time, it reduced to a mere one or two minutes to the extent that I found it hard to have erections for days on end.

I panicked and went to see another doctor who recommended some drugs for me but they did not help. A friend I confided in took me to a herbalist who gave me some concoctions and I drank it for more than six months to no avail.

Meanwhile, Esther was becoming frustrated and she kept telling me she could no longer cope with my inability to have sex with her.

I kept begging her to bear with me and give me her support but I knew there would come a time her patience would be snapped and it did when I discovered that she had been secretly sleeping with other men.

At first, I was angry with her but on reflection, I realized I could not really blame her since I could not fulfill my role as a complete husband, however, I am very much hurt that my wife would be sleeping around with other men under my roof.
