Man bags 21 days imprisonment for stealing cell phone
The convict prayed the court to temper justice with mercy because he was unemployed and have no money to buy food.
The Magistrate, Muhammed Tahir, sentenced him accordingly as he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of criminal trespass and theft.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Haruna Musa, told the court that one Amara Okpala of Durumi, Abuja, reported the matter at Durumi Police Station on June. 8.
He said that the convict entered the business centre of the complainant, located at Durumi and stole the cell phone.
Musa said that the convict later sold the stolen phone to one Kunle at Gudu Market for N4,000.
The prosecutor said that the offences are punishable under Sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code.
