The annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute is themed for this year and will honour 74-year old Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo.

The ball is chaired by Vogue Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and co-chaired by singer Katy Perry, producer/singer Pharrell Williams, NFL quarterback Tom Brady and model Gisele Bundchen.

Major designers walked the red carpet with stars they hand picked as muses to attend the event. Anna Wintour chose a shimmering buttery custom Chanel dress by Karl Lagerfeld inspired by the house’s recent Spring 2017 Haute Couture collection while Helen Lasichanh chose a flaming red out of the world Comme des Garçons look from Rei Kawakubo's Fall 2017 collection amongst other dazzling looks on the red carpet.

The exclusive guest list include stars like Rihanna, Anwar Hadid, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Yolanda Hadid, Chrissy Teigen, Kerry Washington, Lupita Nyong'O, Celine Dion, Zendaya, Janelle Monae,Kim Kardashian, Kylie & Kendall Jenner, Paris Jackson and more who made the reverred list.
