Pink to receive MJ's Video Vanguard Award this year
American Alternative rock singer Pink is to be awarded the MJ Video Vanguard award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.
This was announced on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, by organisers.
Pink, who recently returned to the music scene with song 'What about us' prior to the October 13 release of her seventh studio album "Beautiful Trauma" under RCA records, is being recognized with the show's highest honor for her impact on music, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy, according to MTV's announcement.
Previous winners of the award include Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Kanye West, and most recently Rihanna.
Pink has received six MTV Video Music Awards including Video of the Year for "Lady Marmalade" as well as Best Pop Video for "Stupid Girls" and Best Female Video for "Get the Party Started". She is also well known for her acrobatics during live shows.
The MTV Video Music Awards will take place August 27, 2017 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Kendrick Lamar leads with eight nominations as Katy Perry will be hosting the show.
