Zidane is still without a job since he stepped down as coach of Real Madrid after leading them to three straight Champions League titles.

The 46-year-old was linked with France’s job but with Didier Deschamps expected to continue after leading the Lew Blues to the 2018 FIFA World Cup title, Zidane is eyeing a top job in the Premier League.

According to L’Equipe, Zidane has now set his sights on Manchester United where Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure.

Mourinho has voiced his displeasure at the failure of the club to back him in the transfer windowand his relationship with Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is said to have deteriorated.

Mourinho’s relationship with his star player Paul Pogba is also said to have hit the rocks and he is second in the bookies’ running in the Premier League sack race.

Manchester United kicked off their 2018/2019 campaign with a 2-1 home win over Leicester City.
