Over 5,000 pregnant women have mosquito borne virus, Zika in Colombia
The Colombian national health institute have reported that over 5,013 pregnant women are infected with the Zika virus out of the 31,555 known cases in Colombia.

According to the epidemiology bulletin, , a condition that results in babies being born with abnormal small head that can result in developmental problems has been linked with Zika virus. If a pregnant has the virus, there is a 50% chance that the baby will be born with Microcephaly.
In the same vein, a Philippine minister has urged women to delay pregnancy until fruitful researches has been carried out on the mosquito-borne virus, Zika.
The last reported case in the Philippines was in 2012.
