Although Zenit ended up dropping points on the night as they could only settle for a 2-2 draw against Rostov in the Russian league, they still remain 5 points clear at the top of the Premiership summit. Regardless of the match result they would have been pleased with their pre-match campaign, which was very commendable by all standards.
