Zenit St Petersburg players warm hearts with emotional campaign for homeless dogs
Zenit St Petersburg players just before their Friday evening league encounter with FC Rostov at the Gazprom Arena walked out the tunnel carrying homeless dogs. The campaign is called ,"Dogs are way better at home". This was to promote and encourage the fans to adopt these animals so they can find a family.
It was an emotional moment from the Zenit players as they sought to help increase the chances of these dogs having a home.
The warm gesture by the players also reminds us of how important animal life is in our society and creates awareness for humans and pet owners to take responsibility of the welfare of our domestic animal life.
Although Zenit ended up dropping points on the night as they could only settle for a 2-2 draw against Rostov in the Russian league, they still remain 5 points clear at the top of the Premiership summit. Regardless of the match result they would have been pleased with their pre-match campaign, which was very commendable by all standards.
