Yuki Tsunoda is set to get his first taste of the NTT IndyCar Series later this month, according to a report by RACER.
The Japanese driver, currently serving as a Red Bull Formula 1 reserve, will test for Meyer Shank Racing at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama on October 26, the day after the United States Grand Prix. Meyer Shank Racing claimed victory at this year's Indianapolis 500 with Felix Rosenqvist, who left the outfit at the end of the campaign to rejoin McLaren.
Meyer Shank Racing is powered by Honda, who continue to back Tsunoda's career. While MSR has no open seats for next season—running Marcus Armstrong alongside Mick Schumacher—vacancies remain at fellow Honda-aligned outfit Dale Coyne Racing.
Tsunoda is exploring options in IndyCar as his chances of securing a full-time Formula 1 return, at least within the Red Bull stable, appear increasingly slim. Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar are set to drive for Red Bull Racing next season, while Arvid Lindblad, Liam Lawson, and Nikola Tsolov are in contention for the two Racing Bulls seats.
Beyond Red Bull, the only teams yet to officially close their driver rosters are Mercedes and Haas. The Silver Arrows have not formally announced they will retain Andrea Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, though it remains widely expected, while Haas is poised to field Oliver Bearman and Rafael Câmara.
