Governor sets up panel to recover vehicles 'stolen' by ex-govt officials

Following the refusal of the former appointees to return the government properties, the Governor has constituted the Vehicles Recovery Committee, with the assignment to recover all the 'stolen' official vehicles in two weeks.

According to statement released on Tuesday, April 12, the committee comprises of a representative of the Kogi State Ministry of Justice, security agencies and Transportation Officers in the Government House and the Head of Service.

While speaking to newsmen in Lokoja, the state capital, the Committee Chairman and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties,  Honourable Adaidu Akoh, said seven vehicles have been recovered so far.

He urged others still in possession of government cars to honourably return them to avoid embarrassment  from the security agencies.

The political office holders that served under the immediate past administration of former governor, Idris Wada,had taken away several vehicles from the government's fleet a day before the inauguration of the present administration on the January 27, 2016.
