Mona Barthel and Viktorija Golubic were three games into the final set when rain cut short play at the WTA Ladies Championship Gstaad.

Persistent raid prevented any of the first-round matches from being completed at the WTA Ladies Championship Gstaad on Wednesday.

Tuesday's schedule was badly affected by the weather and it was the same story on day three of the tournament in Switzerland.

Mona Barthel was leading Viktorija Golubic 6-2 1-6 2-1 when play was suspended on Centre Court, while Stefanie Voegele lost the first set to Carina Witthoeft 6-4 in her homeland and was locked at 4-4 in the second when the rain returned.

Kiki Bertens and Marina Erakovic led 4-3 in the opening set against Tamira Paszek and Annika Beck respectively when the covers came back on.
