'Improve your ICT skills or forget getting promoted' - HoS tells civil servants

Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, gave the order in an interview with journalists in Abuja shortly after she rewarded 12 civil servants for their punctuality and commitment to work.

According to various media reports, the Federal Government has ordered civil servants in the country to develop computer skills or forget being promoted.

“Computer has become an indispensable tool for individual and national empowerment, improvement, development and actualization of service,’’ she noted, according to the Vanguard Online report.

The beneficiaries of the punctuality award from the HoS include Mr. Oluwasegun Ademisoro, Engr. Evans Osaghaede, Mr. Shehu Aminu, Engr. Abel Phillip, Engr. Nuhu Garba, Mr. Ikam Atah, Mrs. Temitope Amasika, Mr. Biboye Egberipov, Mrs. Christiana Mordi, Mrs. Maria Okonkwo, Mrs. Joyce Petu and Mr. Affiong Dominic from the Ministries of Communication Technology, Power, National Sports Commission, Presidential Advisory Committee and Aviation.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Mr. Abel Phillips, from the Ministry of Power, said the award would motivate other civil servants to improve their attitude to work, with the premise that their efforts would be rewarded someday.
