Currently enjoying the best form of his career, FC Porto winger William Gomes has emerged as a potential target for a Premier League club.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Newcastle is set to intensify their pursuit of the young talent this summer. However, FC Porto is unlikely to make a deal easy; while the Brazilian has an €80 million release clause, the Dragons have set a minimum asking price of €50 million.
The 20-year-old William Gomes has had a standout season, netting 13 goals and providing two assists in 40 appearances for FC Porto. He is reportedly one of the key targets the Magpies have identified to potentially replace Anthony Gordon, the 25-year-old English winger who has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
