As the game progressed, Rudy Gobert's confidence soared, while Jokic began misfiring on shots he typically converts with ease. The French center gained such self-assurance that he started employing moves against Jokic that the Serbian star usually uses on him.

In his attempts to score, Jokic resorted to various maneuvers, some of which were even deemed unsportsmanlike.

"This is Denver's worst offensive game in the Jokic era," was one of the most frequent comments from viewers.

At that point, Jokic's field goal efficiency was a meager five made shots out of 20 attempts, coupled with four turnovers. Gobert also managed to swat away several of his shots, further frustrating the Serbian player.

To make matters worse, Jokic struggled to adequately protect his team's paint, further contributing to the poor performance.
