Media reports reveal that WhatsApp has officially announced the release of a desktop app for both Windows and Mac.
Prior to this announcement, you could only use WhatsApp on your mobile phone, or via the web.
“Today we’re introducing a desktop app so you have a new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere, whether on your phone or computer at home or work. Like WhatsApp Web, our desktop app is simply an extension of your phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device,” said the Facebook-owned company in a statement.
It will also sync with WhatsApp on your mobile device as well as a host of other features such including native support for desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more.
The app is available for download for free.
