Just 61.62 competitive kilometres across four stages remain in the World Rally Championship (WRC) season, set to decide the fate of the world title.
The two main title contenders are Elfyn Evans and Oliver Solberg. Evans currently sits fifth at Rally Italia Sardegna, while Solberg leads the event heading into the final day. In these current positions, the Swedish driver slashes his deficit by 15 points, moving within just six points of championship leader Evans.
If both maintain their overall positions through to the end of Rally Italia Sardegna, Solberg must outscore Evans by at least six points on Sunday's classification to become champion. In the event of a points tie at the end of the season, the title would go to Solberg on countback due to having one more victory (3 to 2).
Sami Pajari, running third overall in Sardinia, remains in mathematical contention. However, the Finn faces the longest odds, needing both a major slip-up from Solberg and a very poor Sunday showing from Evans.
The final day of Rally Italia Sardegna gets underway at 09:31 Bulgarian time with the first run through the 23.72 km Osilo - Tergu test. Sassari - Argentiera 1 (7.10 km) follows at 11:05, with both stages repeated at 12:43 and 15:15 respectively.
