Yep, lots of web-users reckon fluffy felines, Manchego and Chipotle, have an extra-terrestrial look about them - and they've been dubbed the 'alien cats of Instagram.

The owner of the cat often described as the"crazy cat lady" Veronica Lujian adopted the four-year-old brothers when they were six-months-old.

With their googly eyes, the Persian pusses have more than 20,000 fans on Instagram

However their extra-terrestrial features have divided the opinion of followers.

In an interview with Mirror, Veronica, 33, said: "I think they're popular because they're different. People either find their odd looks incredibly cute or terribly ugly but they are so sweet and fun.

"People mostly comment on their huge eyes and on how Chip's tongue is always hanging out.

"It's fun captioning the photos in a way that adds to that narrative and to their alien personae, and their followers latch onto these stories. We're often asked if they're real."

Photos of the pair show their playful personalities that Veronica claims is just like any other sibling rivalry.

She said: "They tear around the house playing and chasing each other multiple times throughout the day and night. Sometimes the tussling gets out of hand.

"Yet they hang out and sleep together often, just not quite touching or cuddling. And occasionally we'll even catch them licking each other lovingly, but don't tell them we told you."

Veronica from San Francisco, California, US, manages the animals Instagram account with her husband Walter.

She said: "At first I thought people would find endless photos of someone else's cats annoying.

"But a handful of strangers discovered our funny fellas and started following them so I began sharing photos of Chip and Chego photos regularly.

"As they got more and more popular followers would be vocally disappointed if I posted photos of anything else so I created a new account for myself and gave this account entirely over to the boys."
