Manchester United captain named England’s Player of the Year

Manchester United skipper, Wayne Rooney has been named the England Player of the Year.

Wayne Rooney who is also the captain of England side is currently on international duty with the English team preparing for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania.

Rooney was handed his prize at a training session after votes by fans across the country declared him winner of the accolade.

Chelsea’s youth star, Dominic Solanke was also voted the ‘Young Player of the Year award'.
