Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Wrestle With a Basketball-Sized Lipoma in a New YouTube Video
We've seen Dr. Sandra Lee, MD-otherwise known as TLC's Dr. Pimple Popper- wrestle some preeeetty giant lipomas . But reader, when it comes to size, this one just might trump them all.
In a new YouTube video posted Friday, the famed dermatologist wrestles a basketball-sized lipoma from a patient's side. The procedure is so elaborate, Lee apparently had to split it into two parts. (This video is part one of two.)
In the video, Lee has the patient lie on the non-lipoma-containing side. She cuts into the giant growth, and then proceeds to wrestle the orangey mass out from underneath the skin. It looks like challenging work as Lee alternates between pulling at the lipoma and snipping it free from the patient's body.
What is a lipoma?
A lipoma, in case you were wondering, is a noncancerous fatty growth that develops between the skin and muscle, according to the Mayo Clinic . They don't necessarily require removal, although a patient might want to consider it if it's causing discomfort-which was probably the case for the person in Lee's new video.
"Poor lady carrying that around all this time," one commenter wrote. "She's a trooper about it but it must be heavy. She'll be glad to have that gone."
